Happy Halloween - October 31

Despite the storm, we were able to get out and go trick or treating. Everyone in Irvington had their power back. Nia was a great spider trick or treater!

Halloween Parade - at Home - October 30

Nana and Grandfather came down to visit us, and unfortunately, because of the storm, all of the activities we'd planned were cancelled. We made the best of it, and dressed up anyway and had our own parade at home around the house.

Halloween Storm - October 29

It snowed!! We had a big snow storm and we lost our power and everything. The snow was so wet and the leaves were still on the trees so lots of trees came down and knocked out our power. Nia
learned all about things that use electricity!
When our power went out, we said, "What should we do? Find our flashlights and light some candles." Nia said, "I have a good idea. Let's turn on the lights!!" Hmmm... After we lit candles Nia wanted to have a birthday party. That was a good idea, so we ate cake by candle light.
Nia also had a great time playing outside in the snow. We managed to get a few pictures before the camera ran out of batteries.

Trick or Treat at Mommy's Work - October 25

Nia came to Mommy's work this afternoon and she looked great in her spider costume made by Nana. Nia quickly figured out this was a very efficient way to get lots of candy. She filled up her Scooby basket in about 20 minutes.

Nia also looked cute later when she put on Sadie's bumble bee costume.

Sesame Street Live - October 22

Nia's first live show! Mommy and Nia went to Sesame Street Live at the Westchester County Center. Nia was mesmerized by the show and she loved the singing and dancing ...and the Elmo balloon that we brought home.

Harvest Festival At School - October 19

Mommy came down to Nia's nursery school to participate in Harvest Festival. Nia had a great time raking leaves and climbing and jumping on the hay bales.

Scarecrow Invasion - October 16

More scarecrows! We walked/ran to see Scarecrow Invasion at Lyndhurst this year. It was a beautiful day and we had fun running in and around all the scarecrows. Nia thought the pirate ship was scary (in a fun way!)

Go Blue - October 15

Nia has a new Michigan shirt for the football season!

Build Your Own Scarecrow - October 15

Nia and Sadie built a great scarecrow! Nia is quite proud of him and he now has a special place in our house (IN our house, not outside).

Nia poses with a famous statue, Rip Van Winkle, in Irvington on Main Street.
